A Pilgrimage to The Holy Land
Make your way to your local airport, where you will board your overnight flight(s). Onboard, meals will be served to you.
Arrival in Tel Aviv. Meet your guide and transfer north to Nazareth. Evening at leisure for rest and reflection.
Drive along the Mediterranean coast to Caesarea Maritima, the ancient Roman harbor built by Herod the Great. Continue to Mount Carmel in Haifa, visiting Stella Maris Monastery, traditionally associated with the Prophet Elijah and offering panoramic views of the bay. Proceed to Cana of Galilee for a visit to the Wedding Church, with the Renewal of Marriage Vows. Return to Nazareth to visit the Church of the Annunciation and the Nazareth Archaeological Museum.
Boat ride on the Sea of Galilee. Visit the Ancient Boat Museum. Celebrate Mass on the Mount of Beatitudes. Continue to Tabgha (Church of the Multiplication), Capernaum (House of St. Peter’s mother-in-law and the synagogue where Jesus taught), and Magdala.
Visit Mount Tabor, site of the Transfiguration. Travel through the Jordan Valley to Jericho, including Tel Jericho, the Mount of Temptation, and the site of Zacchaeus’ sycamore tree. Proceed to Bet Arabah, the traditional site of Jesus’ Baptism, with the Renewal of Baptismal Promises. Continue to Bethlehem.
Visit Manger Square, the Church of the Nativity, and the Shepherds’ Field. Continue to Ein Karem, visiting the Church of St. John the Baptist and the Church of the Visitation. Stop at the Israel Museum, including the Shrine of the Book housing the Dead Sea Scrolls.
Visit the Mount of Olives: Pater Noster Church, Ascension Chapel, Palm Sunday Road, and Dominus Flevit. View the Eastern (Golden) Gate. Continue to Gethsemane, visiting the Church of All Nations, the Rock of the Agony, and the Gethsemane Cave. Proceed to Mount Zion: House of Caiaphas, Church of St. Peter in Gallicantu, Dormition Abbey, and the Upper Room (Last Supper). Walk through the Jewish Quarter, see King Hezekiah’s Broad Wall,
Visit Bethany, including the traditional site of the Empty Tomb of Lazarus. Continue to Masada, King Herod’s desert fortress. Visit Qumran, site of the Dead Sea Scroll Caves, and enjoy free time to float in the Dead Sea.
Walk the Via Dolorosa (Way of the Cross), including the Antonia Fortress. Visit the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, Calvary, and the Empty Tomb of Christ. Continue to the Pools of Bethesda and St. Anne’s Church. After will go Viste Emmaus then Free time in the Old City of Jerusalem.
This morning, we drive to the airport to board our departing flight for home. Though our pilgrimage draws to a close, its blessings will last a lifetime, and its graces are certain to draw us closer to the Lord.
